Approach:
With the body, it is the same as with other things and phenomena in nature and in life: everything that is beautifully and harmoniously organized functions well. When the body and movement are well coordinated, they give us a beautiful and fluid feeling, give us security, and increase ability and creativity. This is not so difficult to achieve because all the wisdom is within us, we only need to know how to awaken the inner, not just the external teachers. The overall life experience is manifested through movement, so by observing, questioning, and listening to movements (physical, mental, as well as sensations and feelings) we come to information that can change our lives for the better. I base everything on personal experience because I have experienced it myself and seen it in others, and that is why I am happy when I am able to pass this knowledge on.
I want to encourage people to learn about their nature, and the nature of which we are an integral part, to achieve a more complete understanding of themselves, to come to authentic feelings and authentic expression through movement, whether it is walking, running, bending, reaching and other purposeful everyday functional movements, or in dance and other types of artistic expression. It is about awakening the awareness and wisdom that is innate in us in this sense and understanding our own effectiveness with which we can achieve ease and harmony of movement and shape our own behavior.
The “Bones for Life” program was founded by Ruthy Alon, an Israeli Feldenkrais method trainer. The approach to working with the body and the exercise processes are based on the principles of somatic sensorimotor learning by Dr. Moshe Feldenkrais. The program can be learned by anyone and then applied daily, for personal needs or in work with others.
“Bones for Life” teaches about the importance and role of the skeletal system in the process of movement, offers exercises/ideas about the conditions necessary to stimulate healthy bone metabolism, and about the correlation between the quality of functioning of this system and human physical and psychological health.
