BASIC NEUROLOGICAL PATTERNS OF MOVEMENT AND BODY CONNECTIONS
In this workshop, we will learn about the basic neurological patterns of movement and body connections through the developmental path from the simplicity of the cell to the complexity of the organism. We call developmental patterns automated sequences of movement and body connections that appear and are most often integrated throughout early childhood, and affect the physical, perceptual, emotional and cognitive development of a person. They shape the way we establish a relationship with gravity, ourselves, others and the world. If a pattern is dominant, there is a possibility that it prevents the manifestation of other patterns. Exploring developmental patterns in adulthood provides us with an opportunity to strengthen weaker ones and modify dominant patterns, as well as to re-integrate and find new possibilities, comfort and ease in movement.

REFLEXES – the alphabet of our movement In this workshop
Through play, dance and interaction with the group and the environment, we will observe and stimulate reflexes, righting reactions and balance responses, which are the background of every directed and effective movement, thus trying to open paths for body connection, ease in movement and expansion of movement vocabulary.

EMBRYONIC DEVELOPMENT – Simplicity in Complexity
In this workshop we will return to the very beginnings of our existence and, embodying some of the processes that have shaped us, we will rediscover the amazing intelligence, complexity and clarity that has guided our journey from cell to community.
The venue is MO Voćarska, Voćarska cesta 71, Zagreb.
The content of the workshops is based on the Body-Mind Centering® approach and learning, movement analysis and the Bartenieff Fundamentals principles, and the leader’s many years of personal experience in researching and teaching developmental movement. It is intended for performing artists and educators, educators, therapists, parents and anyone who wants to: – deepen their experience and knowledge of the body and movement for professional or private reasons – become aware of their own movement patterns and work on finding greater availability and comfort in the body and movement – become aware of some of the primary reflexes as a foundation for establishing more mature movement patterns – dive into the vast wealth of knowledge and experience stored in the body before birth, at the very beginning of embryonic development
